To Adam Baskin: Errol Spence Jr. bet 10K on former WBC junior middleweight champion Tony Harrison to beat undefeated Tim Tzujou when he battles for the WBO’s interim £154 title on March 12 at Allianz Stadium in Sydney, Australia. I’m here.

Spence talks about betting money on Tuju vs. Harrison instead of focusing on his next opponent, Keith Thurman, or the escaped duck Terrence Crawford.

Obviously, Tsuju isn’t the best fighter in the world, but he’s playing against a guy who’s been inactive at Harrison for the past four years. It’s unknown if he’s kept him away from him, but that suggests he has other interests.

That being said, Spence is one of many who predict a win for Harrison (29-3-1, 21 KOs). His lackluster performance against Terrell Gausha last March led fans to see him as just a hype job, a fighter who took advantage of having a famous father.

There are several good reasons boxing fans are picking the young and strong 28-year-old Tszyu to win.

Harrison has been below average since losing the WBC £154 title to Jermell Charlo in a December 2019 rematch.

Since that bout, the 32-year-old Harrison has fought only twice. He had a 12-round draw with Bryant Perera in April 2021, and last April he defeated Sergio Garcia in a 10-round unanimous decision.

On top of that, Harrison showed weakness when facing big punchers and was knocked out by Jermell, Jarrett Hurd and Willie Nelson. Unless the Detroit native Harrison’s chin improves within four years of his last KO defeat, there’s a good chance he’ll be stopped by Tsuju.

The combination of Harrison’s upfront sluggishness, age, weak opponent and fragile chin could be his undoing against Tzuju.

“I know they thought I was late notified but for me it was too late. I am a real fighter and I will keep working for calls like this !!!!” Tony Harrison said on Instagram about Tim Tzuju.

“There are a lot of failures in that guy’s game. I wanted to play that game in Australia,” said Tony Harrison of Tszyu. I don’t think I’ll ever be champion.
