Major League Baseball is reportedly investigating pitcher Mike Clevinger for alleged domestic violence and child abuse.
Olivia Feinstead, who shares a child with Clevinger, said the pitcher physically abused both her and their child.
Feinstead, 24, shared multiple Instagram posts Tuesday morning accusing Clevinger of being physically violent and emotionally manipulated.
“He committed several acts of domestic violence and child abuse,” Feinstead wrote.
In another post, she said Clevinger threw a used chunk of chewing tobacco at a young child. He said he did it when he threw his iPad.
“I finally left when he strangled me,” she wrote.
Feinstead also said he reported the pitcher to police.
According to The Athletic, MLB is investigating Clevinger beginning in the summer of 2022.
Clevinger, 32, pitched for the San Diego Padres last year but signed with the Chicago White Sox in free agency this offseason. The White Sox claimed he knew nothing about the allegations before signing him.
“We need to protect our clients fairly and thoroughly while also respecting the White Sox and MLB,” Clevinger’s agent Seth Levinson told The Athletic. “We need time to respond.”
