Recently signed starting pitcher Mike Clevinger is under investigation by reports from Major League Baseball the Athletic’s Katie Strang and Brittany Guillory. I have a child abuse allegation.
Olivia Feinstead, 24, the mother of Clevinger’s child, told Athletic Tuesday that she has been in contact with Major League Baseball’s research department since last summer. Feinstead said one time Clevinger choked her, another time he slapped her in a hotel room and threw her chewing tobacco at her child.
According to The Athletic, the White Sox became aware of the public inquiry after the club signed him as a free agent earlier this winter. The White Sox signed Clevinger to a one-year, $15 million deal. After starting his career with the Cleveland Indians, Clevinger has spent the past three seasons with the San Diego Padres. He was traded to the Padres in a big deal before his MLB trade deadline in 2020.
Feinstead posted an Instagram story about the allegations on Tuesday.

The White Sox said they were not aware of the allegations against Clevinger at the time of signing. The White Sox issued a statement to Athletic Tuesday.
“Major League Baseball and the Chicago White Sox take all allegations very seriously, and the White Sox fully support the domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse policies shared by MLB and the MLBPA.” said the team.. “MLB launched an investigation after learning of these allegations. The Athletic reached out to Clevinger via text message for a chance to comment. His agent, Seth Levinson, said in his official statement: We need time to respond. ”
