K State Women’s Basketball Celebrates Annual ‘Team Harry’ Game

Manhattan, Kansas (KSNT) – In 2014, Hally Yust was diagnosed with a rare cancer and sadly passed away.

Harry is a big basketball fan, especially women’s basketball in State K, and even asked for a season ticket as a Christmas present.

When Harry died, state women’s basketball head coach Jeff Mitty attended her funeral, beginning a special relationship between the Yust family and the Wildcat basketball team.

“[Mittie’s] “And all the teams he’s had in the last eight years,” said Jenny Yust, Harry’s mother.

“Team Harry” is a non-profit organization established by the Yust family after Harry’s death. The group’s efforts are aimed at scholarships and getting local fans into the game.

“I feel like Coach Mitty taught us, especially my husband and I, and our entire organization about selflessness,” said Jenny Yust. “You will never know [Mittie] I am the coach of the women’s DI group. ”

K-State women’s basketball warmed up in pink ‘Team Hally’ shirts ahead of their match against TCU on Saturday, January 21st. The Wildcats won that game in Manhattan, where he won 64-48.

“Regardless of the score of the game, [Mittie] A winner in life,” Jenny Yust said.
