NBA, Meta Extend Partnership. This season, fans can watch 52 of his live games in VR.News, scores, highlights, stats, rumors

The NBA comes to the world of virtual reality.

The league has extended its partnership with Meta to broadcast 52 live games in VR this season on the Meta Quest platform, Xtadium. Fans using the Meta Quest VR headset can also experience the game in VR and wear his Meta avatar in official NBA apparel.

Looking at the game schedule, it looks like this:

  • January 18: Sacramento Kings v Los Angeles Lakers, 10:30 PM ET, 7:30 PM PT
  • January 19: Toronto Raptors vs. Minnesota Timberwolves, 8:00 PM ET and 5:00 PM PT
  • January 20: Golden State Warriors v Cleveland Cavaliers, 7:30 PM ET, 4:30 PM PT

Xtadium is only available in the US, while Meta Horizon Worlds is available in the US, Canada, UK, Iceland, Ireland, France, and Spain for Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro.

In addition to 52 live games in VR, five competitions will feature presentations in 180-degree monoscopic VR by celebrity broadcasters.

We also have plans to make NBA League Pass available in Meta Quest’s social VR experiences.
