AC Milan in negotiations for permanent deal with Serginho Dest

Serginho Dest arrived on loan from Barcelona to AC Milan in the summer in search of more playing time, but it did not go as well as he expected. Serie A clubs have the option to buy the American player, but the Spanish giant is reportedly demanding at least $21 million to make the transfer permanent.

It was first reported that Carcho Mercato Serginho Dest has shown improvement since returning from the World Cup hiatus, but AC Milan’s directors were unwilling to pay the fee to keep the American at San Siro. The 22-year-old has made seven league appearances: one as a starter, one in the Supercoppa Italiana, four in the Champions League and one in the Coppa Italia.

Barcelona willing to accept smaller amounts at Dest

It is clear that FC Barcelona are not looking to bring Serginho Dest back next season, so they are open to negotiating a fee with AC Milan to make the loan deal permanent. One of the reasons Serie A is keen to keep the US national team is because they can play as a fullback, wingback or winger if desired.

Serginho Dest has been used as a reliable backup in his first six months at San Siro, so both clubs are willing to sit back and renegotiate the terms they originally agreed to in the summer. The Spanish giants therefore have to accept an offer of less than $21 million to let him go after two unsuccessful seasons at the Camp Nou.
