One of soccer’s greatest rivalries reignited on Sunday, this time with a spot in the NFC Championship at stake.

The Cowboys (13-5) warded off some of the playoff demons with a wild-card dredging of the Buccaneers.

It’s one thing to do it against Tampa Bay, and quite another to do it against the best defense in the league, which the 49ers (14-4) have proven time and time again.

San Francisco has true Super Bowl hopes and the kind of loaded roster that can get the job done. Did I mention we have Devo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey, who are two of the hardest covers on .

Things are looking San Fran, both now and in the future. What better way to prove it than to beat longtime NFC rivals the team he shares as one of the most iconic brands in the league.

Cowboys vs. 49ers Live Update, 2023 NFL Playoff Highlights

(always eastern)

7:50 PM: Pollard with decent gains on pass plays. However, it seems that he was injured when he was knocked down. Official time-out was called due to being slow to get up.

19:48: First down! Prescott tucks it in and runs first, going down first in the process. Gambling benefits McCarthy and the Cowboys.

7:45 PM: A great tackle by Greenrow who redeems himself by tearing Pollard to the grass in an open field. Dallas is his 4th and he has a decision to make at 4th.

7:41 PM: Put some more laundry on the field after Dre Greenlow rams into Elliot and goes off the field. Unnecessary roughness takes the ball into San Francisco territory.

7:37 PM: Field goal! Gold is as reliable as they come. And he keeps the good times rolling, spotting targets from 47 yards away.

Cowboys 6, 49ers 6

7:31 PM: A silly flag by Brando who threw Jauan Jennings on the sidelines after giving up the catch and painted an unnecessary troll flag. This moves the ball to the Dallas side of the field.

7:30 PM: Samuel misses a man on screen before going down a few yards short of the first downline. Set third and short.

7:28 PM: McCaffrey carved out the lane at the slot and stopped at the marker before fielding a pass from Purdy. It’s the first down…just in time.

19:22: Touchdown! Prescott made San Fran fear a run after running down the field to score first and in front. This time, he pulled it back and threw the ball to Dalton Schultz to give Dallas the lead.

Brett Maher — who missed an extra four points last week — is heading to the field to kick the PAT. His kick went up… blocked! Rough time for the kicker.

Cowboys 6, 49ers 3

7:20 PM: Facing the fourth short, Mike McCarthy chose to pass the ball to Lamb, who missed Talanoa Hufanga and put the Boys into the red zone.

7:19 PM: Ezekiel Elliott reaches the 1st down marker after going through the pile on the 3rd down.

7:17 PM: Dallas needed 3 yards to get first. 17 thanks to a quick pitch-and-catch between Prescott and Brown. A cowboy from the Niners territory.

1st Quarter Ended: 49ers 3, Cowboys 0

7:12 PM: Prescott went back to work after the pick and hit Noah Brown and Sheedy Lamb to move the chain.

7:07 PM: Field goal! Gould opens the scoring for the 49ers with a hit from short range.

49ers 3, Cowboys 0

7:06 PM: After two minimal gains, Purdy sidestepped the pressure and put the ball out of play. It should be Robbie Gould’s chip shot.

7:03 PM: After taking a sack on the first play of the possession, Purdy found Brandon Ayuk, who deftly shed his marker to take San Francisco to the Cowboys 10.

19:01: Interception! Dak Prescott was looking for Michael Gallup who saw Karl Root suspended. Deommodore Lenoir sneaks up front and plucks the ball out of the sky, setting the Niners to Dallas’ 21.

6:57 pm: Purdy fires a low pass at McCaffrey, who skips to the ground. It looks like the Niners will punt the ball.

6:56 p.m.: Purdy rolls out to the left and appears to open Aiyuk. However, he was unable to get his feet up in time, giving defensive back Daron Brand the opportunity to knock him down. Great recovery by a newcomer.

6:54 p.m.: San Francisco has already started the game on the front foot. Brock Purdy hits George Kittle with a delicate touch pass that sends him 31 yards. The Niners in Cowboys Territory early on.

6:52 p.m.: Deebo Samuel’s first touch comes on a run play. The Niners star spotted the hole before running seven yards.

6:50 p.m.: The 49ers start their first possession within 20. Let’s see what Brock Purdy and company can do.
