The Milwaukee Brewers plan to create a youth movement in 2023. Based on how the offseason has progressed so far and the prospect that the Brewers are poised for an opportunity, we should see a wave of prospects in his debut not seen in Milwaukee. Since 2018.

This debut will likely be seen very early in 2023, perhaps even on opening day. He’s worked his way steadily through the minor league system without a true breakout season and no down season. He is consistently productive and getting better along the way.
Turang has a solid batting average midway through, but has little power but plenty of speed on base. But he made a strong step forward in his 2022, spending his year in Triple-A Nashville, scoring a .286/.360/. recorded a home run and a career-high 34 stolen bases.
There’s very little left for him to prove with his triple-A. He has proven to be a quality defender at shortstop and has shown versatility in other positions as well.
The Brewers traded Kolten Wong this offseason, giving Turan the job as second baseman. He’s a shortstop in the trade, but with Willie Adams going nowhere, Turang’s path to playing time will be at second base. He was able to get that his first job right out of the camp.
Turang was added to the 40-man roster in November, protecting him from the Rule 5 draft. He’s currently a favorite to start at second base, and if he doesn’t land a job right out of spring training, we’ll likely see him sometime in 2023.
