The NFL salary cap continues to skyrocket season after season, and 2023 is no exception. The NFL informed teams on Monday that the 2023 salary cap will be raised to a record $224.8 million per club.
This figure is more than $16 million higher than the 2022 salary cap of $208.2 million. Here are the cap changes since 2019:

2021 – $182.5 million (COVID-adjusted)
2022 – $208.2 million
2023 – $224.8 million
According to Over the Cap, the 49ers’ cap space is projected at $16.6 million, making it the 10th-largest in the NFL.
A lot of attention will be paid to Nick Bosa’s contract extension, but the deal is inevitable. Additionally, we’ve seen the 49ers sign lucrative contracts with star players, but that rarely affects his salary cap this year.
