The Cowboys have nearly completed the CB image with the introduction of Trevon Diggs and 2022 fifth-round pick Daron Brand. However, the spot opposite Diggs has been problematic as teams often choose not to throw him. Anthony Brown has held the position for quite some time but struggled with his increased goals before suffering a season-ending injury in his final contract year. The Cowboys have taken turns with shots from Kelvin Joseph, Nation Wright, Trayvon Mullen and most recently Israel Muqam and Xavier Rhodes.

Witherspoon is a riser these days, and for good reason.

He plays much more physical and aggressive than his lean 6-foot, 180-pound frame suggests, allowing for inside-out versatility. He’s a capable zone defender, but his skill set shines more in man coverage. As a run defender, he is keen in pursuit, technically sound as a tackler, and brings the physicality seen from box safety.

In Dallas, he’s the go-to guy to shadow his opponent’s top-speed threats, Diggs deals with bigger, slower guys, and Brand excels at slots.
