17 Boxers Selected for Performance Program’s Pilot Senior Team

A total of 17 boxers have been nominated for the England Boxing Performance Program’s Pilot Senior Level Team.
Fourteen male boxers and three female boxers were selected based on their experience, achievements and success both nationally and internationally.
The Senior Program aims to further develop these Three Lions boxers into the adult age group and to continue striving to achieve their boxing aspirations.
Pilot teams will be called up from January to March 2023, with official teams announced after the 2023 England Boxing National Amateur Championship.
Led by lead national coach Amanda Coulson, the program includes two domestic and one international training camps and includes several games.
“England boxing has not had a solid senior program for a long time, so it is great for us to be able to put it in place and ensure that the performance pathway continues,” she said. .
“This team will provide senior-level boxers with additional motivation and targets for effort, as well as helping transition boxers looking to join the GB program.
“Currently, boxers who are very experienced at youth level, especially internationally, may have little experience at senior level before being GB rated, but this program should help them cope with that. am.
“This first squad is a pilot squad and we plan how it will work in the future. Selected from those who entered or were part of the Youth World team in November.
“The starting full squad will be selected based on their performance at NAC 2023 in April.”
