Eleven players from the Golden Triangle region have been selected for the 2023 North Mississippi All-Star soccer game.

Both All-Star Games will be played at Itawamba Community College on February 9, with the girls starting at 5:30 PM and the boys at 7:30 PM.

Five girls and six boys were named on the East roster, with Starkville High School having the most representatives of the five choices.

Seniors Emma Wilson and Julia McPherson were selected from the girls. Midfielder Wilson and primarily defender McPherson are seasoned leaders and key cogs in the jacket.

The men were Micah King, Soren Vosges-Haupt, and Tony Singh. Senior Vosges Haupt leads Starkville in goals and assists this season, averaging one goal per game.

Singh, a sophomore, and King, a junior, are also among the Jackets’ top playmakers this season.

Caledonia came next with four selections split evenly between the men’s and women’s teams. Aven Matthews and Lauren Brown helped headline the list as one of the Cavaliers’ undoubted leaders, along with Senior Brown being named to the girls’ roster.

Braden Walters and Logan Burgess represent the Cavaliers men’s team. Burgess is also a Caledonian senior and has been part of a solid senior class this season.

New Hope rounds out the selection with two representatives, Kayleigh Carter from the women’s team and Josh Wilcox from the men’s team.
