UNT adds game against McNeese as men's hoops slate continues to come together

Football season is here.

Subscribe to the DRC for $1 a month over the next six months to follow all that transpires with North Texas and area high schools.

North Texas will face McNeese State in the opener of a two-game series this fall pitting two of the top teams from the region competing outside the power conferences in college basketball.

UNT will travel to face the Cowboys on Nov.

18 at the Legacy Center in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

McNeese will make the trip to Denton in 2026.

UNT is coming off a 19-win season that saw the Mean Green advance to the second round of the National Invitation Tournament.

McNeese went 30-4 and 18-0 in the Southland Conference in its first season under Will Wade, who guided the Cowboys to the NCAA Tournament.

UNT and McNeese were both members of the Southland from 1982-96.

The Mean Green have announced several of their nonconference games leading up to coach Ross Hodges second season.

UNT will compete in the NIT Season Tip-Off from Nov.

28-29 in Kissimmee, Florida, along with Northern Iowa, St.

Bonaventure and Utah State.

UNT will also travel to Minnesota on Nov.

13 and host Oregon State on Nov.
