A new behind the scenes television series following NHL players will air on Friday, and one reporter says fans will never see McDavid the same.
The series is called Faceoff: Inside the NHL on Amazon Prime Video.
ESPN reporter Greg Wyshynski has screened the entire season already and raved about how incredible it is - even saying it will shatter fans' perception of Connor McDavid .
In a trailer released for the show, Connor McDavid was seen screaming in the locker room and demanding more from the Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final.
The Oilers had just lost game 2, and McDavid was desperately trying to get more out of his teammates.
Fans only ever see McDavid as a shy and reserved person, so to see this leadership side of him is incredible.
McDavid commented on the clip after it aired , and admitted that while he wasn't totally comfortable being the star of the show, he understands a series like this is great for the growth of hockey.
The Oilers are a pretty private team, but they're going to be wide open and unfiltered in this series.
Judging by the first clip inside the trailer and Wyshynski's new comment, it seems like fans will get an up close and intimate look at Connor McDavid as an emotional and passionate leader in the locker room.
It may be tough for fans to re-watch painful loss in the Cup Final, but this series sounds like just watch television so far.
The series comes out just in time for fans to watch before the Oilers regular season begins at home against the Winnipeg Jets on October 9th.
The Oilers will play just two more preseason games before another long quest for the Stanley Cup begins.
