Quinn Ewers embarrassed by ex-roommate as 82-yard fumble return ends Texas career Will Howard has 'golf ball in hand' as Ohio State QB picks up injury concern To make matters worse for Ewers, he and Sawyer were once roommates together at Ohio State prior to the former transferring to Texas.

And speaking to ESPN after the game, Sawyer revealed Ewers told him jokingly "screw you" after the game ending fumble touchdown, with the latter laughing about it with his friend." Speaking to ESPN, Sawyer said: "I kind of blacked out on the run over before I picked it up.

Coach put us in a great position.

"I was just put in a good position by the coaches.

I saw the ball pop out right to me before I tackled him, I was just thinking I've got to keep on my feet.

Like I said, I almost blacked out when I scooped it, saw nothing but green grass ahead of me.

"Yeah I did.

He was walking off and he said, "screw you!", and started laughing.

That's my boy.

Obviously we were roommates when he was here and I have a lot of respect for him and the rest of the Texas team.

That's a great team.

They took it four quarters and they had a great season so shout out to them too." Ewers, who is expect enter the 2025 NFL Draft, said after the game: "I felt him, I started drifting away.

I thought I was going to be able to get the ball off before he got there,' the quarterback said.

"It's not like I tried to give them the game - but I saw Jack running with the ball down the sideline and it sucks, man.

But he's a great player, a great individual, a great person.

We were roommates when I was up at Ohio State, it sucks but Jack's a good player and he made a great play.".
